JADE HERRERA
My art journey began with a watercolor class at a junior college in Stockton, CA. I made weekly trips to the library gathering all the art technique books I could find and taught myself art. After dabbling in watercolor, oil, pastel, acrylic, encaustic and mixed media, I prefer mixed media a it allows me to utilize all methods and materials in my creations. Most of my mixed media work utilizes paper which inspires and directs me often with surprising results.
I have lived in Las Vegas, NM where I was involved with the Art Council, Las Vegas Studio Tour and the Pendaries Art League. Living in Morro Bay and Pismo Beach, CA, I was a member of the Morro Bar Art Association, Cayucos Art Association and San Luis Obispo Couty Studio Tour. In 2018 I returned to New Mexico where I have found art friends and groups to “hang” with. All this is thanks to my Prince Charming who enabled me to pursue art instead of working. This is the last stop on my art journey as he says he is not moving again.
