ANGELA STORCH
Color fascinates me. Color has the power to sweep away rules and limitations. Color has the power to stimulate fantasy and to bring images to life. When I dip my brush into the paint, I dip into my fantasy. I don’t want my art to provoke; I want it to set the soul free.
I was born in Cologne, Germany. Growing up I was surrounded by two thousand years of art: the glass and pottery of the Romans, the inspiring Cathedral of Cologne, hundreds of medieval churches and the art of painters and sculptors in museums, public buildings, and in my parents’ house. Even as a child I loved to play with colors, to create a world of my own.
After moving from Germany to Albuquerque the size of my canvases has grown. I love the wide-open spaces of New Mexico and the beautiful colors of its landscape.
