 Gabriele Niegelhell

Picture
All the world around and inside me provide unlimited inspiration. As my eyes look into this world and see all the beautiful things, my head just cannot stop creating multitudes of images that my heart and my hands want to try to put down on canvas - trying to capture the awe and wonder inside and out. With this wealth of ideas, the body of my work ends up being rather eclectic, as opposed to having only one subject matter or approach. However, I primarily paint in oil and gravitate between abstracted realism, contemporary impressionism, and recently tonalism.  I am particularly fascinated by how minuscule changes in light and dark and color temperature affect a painting and explore these in my work. I yearn to learn this craft, learning to be able to do what I admire. My fascination with the illusion that a paint brush and color can achieve, never ends. Maybe it extends the feeling that I have about life sometimes, that it is just an illusion, merely a fleeting moment in time. Gabriele was born in Austria, and is a member of the Plein Air Painters of NM. You can see more of her work at www.gabrieleniegelhell.com.
