Jackie Hertel
Jackie calls herself a born artist who didn’t discover
art until her 20’s. Since then, she’s been an award winning potter and an exhibited and collected outdoor painter who began the quest for light and color on the land long before the current “plein aire” resurgence.
She received an M.A.L.S. degree in clay and women’s studies which began a long journey of honoring female creativity and reference to the feminine in her work. An avid outdoorswoman, Jackie draws upon nature in all her beauty for inspiration
and energy. Currently involved in the Womyn’s Work Apron Project, (art aprons expressing women’s concerns), she is also directing her painted land images to greater abstraction with acrylics and mixed media.
