DEBORAH WELCH
Deborah settled in New Mexico 8 years ago. She began her art journey
in 2005 while living in the midwest. It was there that she rediscovered
her long-lost passion for paints & brushes which led her back to “the
canvas”. For several years she studied & explored abstract painting &
color theory with other women artists. Eventually this led to exhibiting
in group & solo shows, which continues today. Recently she joined a
group of abstract painters in Albuquerque. Acrylic is her medium of
choice. She is currently a member of the New Mexico Art League and
the Society of Layerists in Multi-media (SLMM).
“Abstract paintings are not easy to create. From start to finish they pose huge challenges. They demand problem solving strategy along with intuitive insight. Abstract rules are flimsy and sometimes change with each painting. I find this abstract process demanding but also exciting & truly fascinating”. Contact Deborah at debo@awstudios.com
