joan saks berman, 1941-2013
Dr. Joan R. Saks Berman passed away on Friday, May 17, 2013. A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 9, 11am in The Bank of America Theater , National Hispanic Cultural Center. At Joan's request, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Albuquerque Center for Peace and Justice at 505-268-9557.
Joan was a long-time member of Rainbow Artists and we knew that she was very active in the community, politics, culture and the arts. She was a first responder for the Red Cross, a practicing psychologist and a published author. She traveled throughout the world, photographing wherever she went.
Joan’s artwork will be featured at Rainbow’s Reunion Show at the African American Performing Arts Center in October 2013.
