Joan W. White-November 2002

Joan White is a self-taught artist who has worked with oils and wearable art over the years. She knew she had found her medium when she started working with gourds. Carefully enhancing their natural patina and shape with petroglyphs, beads, pottery shards, woven pine needles and leather, she interprets the stories they tell. Some of Joan's gourds have won awards.
