Most of my work is in pastel or colored pencil, which I often use in mixed media applications. Subject matter is wide-ranging but I have always been drawn to portraiture and have done many commissions and character studies. People participating in historical reinactments have been frequent subjects.The study of cultural anthropology has been a strong influence in my life and in my work. I feel that the act of creating art is one of the "universal" drives within all people and the cultures they develop. The arts bind us together in a world spirit of human expression. I feel blessed to be an active participant in that world.
