Inara Cedrins went to China in 1998 to learn to paint on silk, and remained for five years, teaching writing and lecturing. In 2003 she went to Nepal to study Tibetan thangka painting; upon the king's coup d'etat in 2005, she relocated to Latvia where she started a literary agency and taught Creative Writing. She translates from Latvian into English and is a writer as well as an artist: samples of both writing and art are on her web site. She now lives in Albuquerque.
